Mike also read the last issue of the Fables Crossover along with the new Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash comic. John talks about Image’s new anthology Outlaw Territory and Marvel’s Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus.
Hey everyone. I’ll be missing this week’s episode due to preparations for my upcoming wedding. And for the same reason I’ll be out the following week as well. So I thought that I better get off my duff and get something up for this week. So … without further adu, here are the blurbs for the week:
This week sees John reveal his total geekyness on all things Ghostbusters. This all comes out when the gang talks about the new Ghostbusers Blu-Ray and the new Ghostbusters Video Game. Rod and John saw Year One in theaters, and Mike read Ultimate Spider-Man: Requiem #1. They also talk about how over hyped Captain America #600 was among other things.
It’s all comic reviews this week as Mike and Rod spend a whole lot of time talking about the new Final Crisis Hardcover. So much time that they don’t get to review much else. However the gang does also talk about a return to the 90′s with X-Men Forever #1, they get a little up in arms about the new Captain America: The Death of Captain America Omnibus solicitation, and Rod tells us how he celebrated his birthday.
Some of you who listen to the show may be wondering what that whole “Summer of Gaming” commercial that we’ve been running is all about. Well, I’m going to tell you…over the course of the next few weeks. This week, I’m going to give you all the info you need on Game Over Videogame’s Classic Game Fest. Alright everybody. So here’s the deal. I love the little blurbs on the back of trades. And I’m pretty sure that back in the day the makers of the book would send the book to a respected writer or artist to come up with something witty to say. Some clever way of praising the book that we’re browsing in the store.
But these days the backs of books have blurbs from all sorts of strange sources. And a lot of times it doesn’t even list a person. It’ll just list the website it came from.
Well I want in on that game. So every week I’ll now be writing blurbs for the books that I have bought and liked. Hell, I might even do some blurbs for books that I didn’t like. Get the list after the break.
