As the song says…The times they are a changing. By “times,” I mean the times the podcast gets put up on the website. Also…there may be some other changes coming as well.

So what is going on? Well, as I’ve mentioned on the show…I got a new job. Being the new guy at this job means that I get stuck with the working shift that no one wants. Sadly this shift falls in place of where our normal recording schedule usually resides. Even more distressing is that my new work schedule conflicts with both Mike and Rod’s working schedules. So where does that leave us?

We actually spent a lot of the downtime at Staple talking about what we could do. Many options came up. One idea was that I take some time off from the show, and come back as soon as my schedule changes to something more agreeable. Both Rod and Mike were against this idea. Miss one or 2 shows here and there, and they’ve got no problem. However, missing what could be 2 months or more worth of episodes is considered a deal breaker. Another idea was to trade off weeks. One week could be Rod and I, another week could be Mike and Rod, and if schedules permit, another week could be Mike and I. Maybe even bring some guest hosts on to fill out the third spot. The third option is to record early Sunday morning and then get the episode up whenever I can.

So what option are we going with? Well…We’re going to give the Sunday morning option a try. If that fails, we’ll fall on option B.

What does this mean for you, the dear listener? It means that we’re asking you to bear with us while we transition through this period. It means that while the new episodes may not be released on the same time table we’ve previously held to, we do promise to release an episode every week for your enjoyment. So if you don’t see the new episode up on Sunday evening…it will be up sometime Monday.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, you’re probably asking, “Wait…didn’t you say something about other changes?”

Yes I did. However, changes may have been the wrong choice of words. I should have said additions.

When we originally created this website, the idea was that in addition to the main podcast we would also host other podcasts as well. This includes both other video and audio podcast made by us and friends. Now that we have been at this for a year, I figure it’s time to move forward with this idea. I’m currently putting together a secondary audio podcast that will run on this site. This new podcast won’t have a solid schedule at first and for the first batch of episodes, they will be included in the Geek Bombast Podcast RSS Feed. Eventually this show will get it’s own website in the form of a sub-domain along with it’s own RSS feed and iTunes channel. I’ll announce more about this Podcast as we get closer to it’s launch.

So there you go. That’s all we got at the moment. Hopefully you’ll bear with us while we make adjustments to our scheduled show times, but we hope you also enjoy the upcoming extra content.
