About

Geek Bombast is a group of people who have passion for Comics, Movies, TV, Video Games, and anything else deemed totally awesome. They have banded together and set forth a plan to bring their love of these things to the masses. In march of 2009, they brought phase 1 of their plan into fruition in the form of a weekly audio podcast titled Geek Bombast. Contained in each episode of this podcast is news, reviews, general discussion, and the occasional interview. In addition to the podcast, the group also occasionally produces blog posts and various video content for the Geek Bombast website. The end goal is to produce various types of content for the website that would appeal to a wide range of people, all the while spreading their love of all things they deem totally awesome.

THE CAST:

John Sitton is probably the biggest Geek of the the group. He has a strong love of Comics, Video Games, and Movies. His favorite comic characters are Green Lantern and Daredevil. While he owns all 3 of the current Generation of video game consoles, he tends to prefer his X-box 360 and is a huge fan of Fighting Games and Rock Band. He also has a decent collection of previous generation gaming consoles, and loves classic games….specifically bad comic book licensed ones. His favorite movie would be Ghostbusters, as he has probably watched it more than any movie ever. When not reading comics, playing video games, or watching movies John spends his free time drawing, working on various video projects, and working on the Geek Bombast website. John hopes to make Geek Bombast into a website where people can find all sorts of content regarding geek culture in various forms such as written articles, audio podcasts, and video podcasts.

Rod Nunley is probably the least geeky of the group, but that still makes him a bigger geek than any of you slackers reading this.  His geek interests lie mainly with comics, movies and television.  Outside of Madden or Rockband he hasn’t bought more than four or five video games in the last decade.  His trade paperback collection is to be both feared and respected and his movie collection (although slowed down by his love of Netflix) is formidable to say the least.  His favorite movie is Jaws … or is it Chinatown … or maybe it’s Shawn of the Dead, he can never be sure what answer he’ll give from moment to moment.  While not reorganizing his trade collection or re-watching The Big Lebowski for the 42nd time he can be found hanging out with his awesome wife and trying to impress her with his knowledge of the unimportant.

From a young age Mike Pruitt has been known to spend hours at a time peering into the great abyss that is known as TV, which would explain why he chose that as his career path.  He has the uncanny ability to stare at a black screen and make images appear on it, some people doubt this, but it is scientific fact.  He has obsessed over such television programming as Jericho and Rome, only to cry himself to sleep, knowing they will never be seen again. Past television, he also likes to stay apprised of the latest computer and tech news and can be seen collecting pennies off the street in hopes of buying the latest tech toy that comes out. But not all is as it seems, Mike does have a soft side.  His favorite movie is Harold and Maude and one of his guilty pleasures is a glass of whiskey while listening to the the greatest hits of Cat Stevens. Mike also has the sad ability of being able to work lines from Kevin Smith movies into almost any situation.
